Biography

Adriana Catano is an actress and television host. She recently came
back from Mexico where she worked on a soap opera for TVAzteca. She
played the part of Jacqueline Tovar, a sexy villain. This was a principal role on the soap opera named "Belinda" which aired in Mexico, U.S. and Latin America. She also had much success playing the role of "Elisa Ferrer" on the soap opera "Secreto de Amor." "Secreto de Amor" is currently on the air world-wide and was the highest rated day-time soap opera on Univision Network in the U.S. Due to her undisputable beauty, talent and class she has had roles with super stars such as Eddie Murphy in "HolyMan" and Will Smith in "Bad Boys." Adriana also played the role of "Julia Vargas" on ABC's series "Moon Over Miami." Adriana had a principal role in the English language soap opera "Miami Sands." "Miami Sands" aired all over Europe and was the #1 rated show in South Africa. She has had principal roles in the following soap operas: Belinda, Secreto de Amor, Morelia, MariElena, Amor Latino and Cadena Braga. Adriana is totally bilingual and has worked in both the general market and Hispanic market making her a true cross-over talent.

We have seen her co-host several of Univision’s tv shows such as: “Los Buenos Dias” and “Despierta America.”  She hosted Telefutura's "New Year's Eve" special ( 8 hours live ) on 12-31-02 and 12-31-03. Adriana has been  a special guest  on several occasions on Univision’s highest rated shows such as: “Don Francisco Presenta” “El Gordo y La Flaca” “Despierta America” ”Primer Impacto.” In addition, ”E Entertainment Latin America" has aired several feature stories about her. Adriana was the anchor and main tv host of Telemundo Networks highest rated shows such as : “Edicion Especial” and “Cinemundo.” She hosted Telemundo TV specials of vital importance such as: “ Latin Billboard Awards-Pre-Show and Post Show” “Ritmo Latino Music Awards” ”Calle Ocho 1998” ”Calle Ocho 2000” “Lo Maximo del Espiritu Latino” ”Sonidos de Milenio” “Ms. Colombia” and “Ritmo de Pleasure Island” among others. At the “Regional Emmy’s” she has been a presenter on three different occasions. Even Fox Sports Americas gave her a baseball show to host titled “ Fox Al Bate” which aired all over Latin America and the U.S. NBC also included her to host the tv special “My People, Mi Gente.”  

Adriana is so well known and loved by the 40 million Hispanics in the U.S. plus her fans in Latin America that we constantly see her beautiful face on covers and feature stories in magazines such as: FHM, Selecta, Ocean Drive, People, Open Your Eyes, TV y Novelas, TV Notas, MIRA, La Opinion, Men’s Fitness, El Norte, El  Reforma, and The Miami Herald just to name a few.

Many of her fans will always remember her as “Carol” the sexy neighbor on Univision Networks “ La Familia Fernandez” (tv sitcom on Sabado Gigante) where she worked for three years.  Adriana was even a producer and reporter of Telemundo’s “Hollywood D.F.” where she had the opportunity to interview celebrities such as: Julio Iglesias, Enrique Iglesias,  Halle Berry, Jimmy Smitts, Shakira, Celia Cruz, Sean “Puffy” Combs and Carlos Vives among others.

Adriana has starred in over 600 advertising campaigns world-wide such as: Coors Light, Bud Light, Colgate, Revlon, Flex Shampoo, Shiseido Cosmetics, Coca-Cola, Head & Shoulders Shampoo, Presidente Brandy, Cerveza Presidente, etc. She has been the Hispanic spokesperson for Rooms To Go for the last eight years.  Rooms To Go is the largest chain of furniture stores in the US and Puerto Rico.

Her sensual calendars 2001,2002,2003 and 2004 have been a hit among all her fans in the U.S., and Latin America. Adriana 2005 is already in pre-pro- duction and will certainly be a huge success as well.

Due to her huge popularity, Univision-on line decided to launch a mini-website within their own portal, with sensual photos of Adriana in 2001. Within one week of launching this mini-portal, Adriana received over 1,000,000 visitors. Thanks to this huge response, Univision-on line decided to re-vamp the mini-website this past August 2002 and the result was exactly the same. Adriana received more than 1,000,000 visitors within one week of the launching.

Adriana was born in Miami, Florida but she is extremely proud of her Colombian roots. Her perseverance and hard work have led her to a successful career at a young age. She studied Broadcast Journalism at FIU. And all acting methods with acting teachers such as: Michelle Danner, Dan Chernau, Michael Gioia, Marc Durso, Robbie Burns, Sonia Nikore, John Fionte, Mel Johnson and Iris Acker.
